I’ve never traveled to the West Coast, so I can’t personally attest to Oregon’s lush landscape. Based on photos, though, I have to believe it has some of the most beautiful wide open spaces in the country.
Rand McNally recently confirmed my belief by selecting Baker City, Ore., as one of the most beautiful small towns in America. Here at Certified Angus Beef LLC we, too, have a fondness for Baker City — and not because of its breathtaking views, scenic attractions and kind-hearted citizens. Baker City is home to passionate Angus ranchers, Rob & Lori Thomas.
The Thomases hosted a lunch event while the Best of the Road by Rand McNally and USA Today crew came through. Texans Nik and Dusty Green made a stop at the Thomas ranch on a recent whirlwind tour of Baker City. And the ranchers ensured the two and their crew had the best experience possible. They provided opportunities for the crew to see cowboys moving cattle and they tried their hand at roping.
They enjoyed a lunch of Certified Angus Beef ® brand strip steaks with fruit chutney, cowboy beans, broccoli salad and more.
You can check out the video post of Nik and Dusty’s Baker City adventure here. Tune in to the Travel Channel tonight at 8 p.m. (ET) for scenes from all of the small towns they visited.
Congrats to featured small town, Baker City! And thanks to Rob and Lori Thomas for allowing the Certified Angus Beef ® brand to be part of the experience. The Thomas family is just one of many local ranching families committed to bringing the best Angus beef to dinner tables in towns — of all sizes! — across America.
